DETROIT - MAYOR, CITY COUNCIL, POLICE CHIEF, MINISTERS - STAND UP AGAINST VIOLENCE.

TO THE RESIDENTS OF DETROIT:

A 19 yrs old college student was killed and the CODE is SHUSH....as a man on Chl 4 puts a finger over his lips....Don't Snitch and people continue to die - and killers continue to walk free among us...laughing and smirking - believing what a Mayor spewed out..repeated by ineffective leaders, needing to get elected, to maintain their pulpits, to keep their 'street creds'

No one knows a thing...didn't see a thing...wont say a thing.....

A legacy of Mayor Coleman Young continues - reinforced by Ron Scott (Comm Against Police Brutality)...and others who have been conditioned Detroit residents to see the Detroit Police as a "white army of occupation" - 'the man'...a danger to you and your friends - thugs in uniform...on and on....with Detroit leaders standing silent as the Code is observed.

PC Evans is standing up and speaking out...break the code, stop the murders - but after years and years of official acceptance - the perception lives on. He needs help - ministers and community leaders must stand up from their pulpits and on the street corners and say - Speak Up, put murders, robbers and rapists in jail! Black power shouldn't mean you rob your black neighbors, kill and rape your brothers and sisters, and grandfathers.

Detroit has had a black Mayor and numerous Police Chiefs since 1973 (36 years - 36) - now its police force (after official white applicant discrimination) is reportedly 73% black and the murders continue, the Code still lives - what have we gained with the spewing of negative police comments - nothing. The community because of its silent ineffective leaders still believe police officers (who now reflect their color) are still an 'army of occupation' - not protectors of your sons and daughters, your mothers and fathers, your grandparents, your friends, school mates....

Detroit now is the time to change your attitude - now is the time to rally behind you under staffed police officers and stop the killings, the robberies and rapes - They want to protect you but can't do it alone in a vacuum - they need your eyes and voice - Speak Up.

Now is the time for the Detroit Police Dept to stand up and reorganize itself into a model Department, with supervisors that have the intelligence, honesty and devotion to 'do the right thing' by Detroit residents - protect them. Stop the nepotism, favoritism, cronyism.

Now is the time for the Mayor and City Council to Stand Up and Speak Up use your media contacts, get some real credit by saying - we need to help the police and work with them to stop the violence and to make our city streets and schools safe - for everyone.

MONICA CONYERS FOR MAYOR OF DETROIT, OMG - NO.

Are you going to vote for Monica Conyers for Mayor.

I think she is building momentum, posing, posturing, positioning for the next mayoral campaign. It is now not about Cobo - but about Monica, who played the RACE card, and stirred up divisions that should be healing. She has poisoned the debate, the Cobo deal and the economic atmosphere in Detroit and Michigan. Her actions are hurting Detoit and Michigan and she doesn't get it - or fathom what she has done. Neither does Martha Reeves, JoAnne Watson, Barbara Rose Collins or Alberta Tinsley-Talabi who have increased racial tensions and divisions with their votes and bizarre actions.

Monica could face Cockrel or Bing, in the next Mayor election, both of whom, will be injured during the bruising campaign....she could easily label Bing - carpet bagger (which will be in Cockrel campaign) and Cockrel would be vulnerable on the Cobo deal - no matter how it turns out.

Detroit is $300 - 700 million dollars in debt.

The Detroit School System has an appointed state financial overseer and a bloated ineffective school board, whose members must be cut to five to seven (5 -7).

Detroit has lost 600,000+ residents....

Under Mayor Cockrel, the City of Detroit spends $15.4 million to operate the nine member City Council and another $11.8 million to operate the Mayor's Office itself ($27.2 million dollars). This budget must be slashed to the bare bones. Council member must be cut to five - seven (5 - 7).

So much is at stake in the Mayoral election, the Cobo deal, more must be done to save Detroit - before Detroit can't be saved - before Monica Conyers - for Mayor. Let a real debate begin - today..

MAYOR KWAME KILPATRICK, RESIGN NOW - MICHIGAN GOVERNOR'S REMOVAL HEARINGS.

WOW - Thanks to Fox2Detroit for LIVE coverage of Governor Granholm's Removal Hearings of Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick. The only Detroit station providing live gavel to gavel coverage - while others use the internet (assuming people have acess).

It will not be a ratings sucess, but it is in the Public Interest to have it on commercial tv versus just the internet, so that anyone interested may view the proceedings and not just those wealthy enough to have a computer.

The Governor is conducting herself and the hearings in a proper manner, that shows no bias..

But the most intriguing question is, and hasn't been asked is Why? with all the high priced attorneys that the Mayor is paying - Why? is he entrusting this important faze to Sharon McPhail? a woman who accused him of hotwiring her council seat - and who is clealy not had the legal experience of the other attorneys.

The Mayor should be removed from office - and he deserves his day in court - his presumption of innocence. He can get a fair trail. But he should not be Mayor while his days counting down to his trials' are counting down.

Deal or No Deal: Did Mayor Kilpatrick lawyers strike a deal? Yes or No - only a few people know for sure. But rumors were flying and the media went into frenzy mode - trying to be the first, and everyone got it wrong, because???

The Mayor has known the truth about his actions - if there is a plea deal it should include Jail Time, so that future elected politicians will understand that resigning their office - is not sufficient to make up for misconduct in office, for lying in court, and betraying the public trust.

Hopefully tonight - the Deal will get done, for Detroit ...
